Neil Burns
PartnerNeil Burns represents victims of legal malpractice, child injury, motor vehicle accidents and other personal injuries and personal bancruptcy. In practice since 1985, he has successfully advocated for thousands of clients.
Neil has won cases in District Courts, Superior Courts, the Appeals Court, Probate Courts, Federal Bankruptcy Court and the Federal District Court.
Neil received his Bachelor's of Arts Degree from Hobart College in 1980. He attended programs with the London School of Economics (1978) and worked for Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Thomas P. O'Neill, Jr. in 1979.
Neil was a VISTA (Volunteer In Service to America) volunteer in 1980-1982. He worked with the New Hampshire People's Alliance in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Neil received his Juris Doctorate from Antioch School of Law" now known as the David A. Clarke School of Law" in Washington, D.C. in 1985.
Neil has been on the Board of the National Lawyers Guild's Lawyer Referral Service since 1995. The LRS refer low and moderate income clients to attorneys who will accept reduced fees.
Neil has been a Life Member of the Appalachian Mountain Club for over 15 years. He has volunteered for over 25 years at the AMC's Three Mile Island facility, on Lake Winnipesauke, New Hampshire. Presently, he is a member of the volunteer Committee that manages the island camp.
Neil serves as a Court appointed trustee for children's trusts. These trusts are set up for clients whose cases result in obtaining substantial monies requiring professional management and accounting. As Trustee, Neil's goal and fiduciary responsibility is to serve the best interests of children for whom trusts have been established and this includes, when appropriate and with the parent/guardian's assent providing for advocacy for the child's health and educational needs through trust funds. On an ongoing basis trust families are receiving monthly checks and payments for such things as tutoring, summer programs and counseling.
